Job description
As an Oracle Database Administrator, you will work in a high performing data warehouse environment. You will have the opportunity to break away from the traditional administration in order to participate in application performance challenges. You will enjoy taking ownership, while also partnering with team members to achieve common goals.

To be successful in this role, you need to:

  • Work as a liaison between the Data Warehouse team and the Global Distributed DBA team;
  • Be responsible for installation and support of vendor products that require an Oracle repository;
  • Participate in Oracle database upgrades;
  • Assist the application group with migrating database objects through the development regions;
  • Review current database concepts and propose where new Oracle functionality can replace old methodologies;
  • Participate with the application group in troubleshooting any production issues.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years’ database administration experience;
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience with Oracle 11g platform;
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field;
  • Experience with PL/SQL, Stored Procedures, Triggers and views;
  • Experience with index tuning;
  • Experience with Oracle OEM monitoring platform;
  • Experience with shell scripting on Solaris and Linux;
  • Very good English skills, both written and spoken.

Additional requirements

  • Experience with Oracle RAC and/or Oracle Exadata appliance;
  • Working with Oracle Goldengate Replication;
  • Working with or upgrading to Oracle 12c;
  • Familiar with Oracle OID as a replacement for tnsnames resolution.
