Position purpose
Virtualization Team was founded in 2008 with four engineers at the beginning, today team consist twenty highly skilled engineers. VMware Certified Professional (VCP) certificate is a standard, the most experienced team members passed VCAP-DCA/VCAP-DCD exams and currently participate in VCDX program.
VMware Consultant will be able to expand her/his knowledge in Virtualization area through access to multi-client environment and cooperation with high class specialists within and outside our company (including hardware/software vendors).
This position is dedicated for experienced people who like challenges and projects implementation/validation from the initial phase, where active cooperation with architects, projects managers and other stakeholders is required.
Job description
• VMware Expert role during new projects validation and implementation
• Virtual Infrastructure configuration/management/ problem analysis
• Identifying hardware/software problems and leading a resolution process
• Proactive activities in infrastructure management
• Incident/Problem/Change Management process’ according to ITIL rules
Main accountabilities
• Virtualization technology: VMware
• Hardware management: HP C7000, HP rack servers, IBM PureFlex, IBM rack servers, Dell servers, NetApp bays
• Incident/Problem/Change Management
Candidate’s profile
• Analytical and methodical approach to problem solving
• Self motivation and able to work within a team or autonomous
• Be able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
Requirements
• VMware vSphere 4.x/5.x- expert level proven by certificates (VCP/VCP Cloud – required, VCAP certification as a plus)
• vRealize Automation, vCloud Director, vRealize Operations Manager – senior level
• Good ability to script in PowerShell
• Knowledge about support and troubleshooting for Operating Systems (Windows, Linux)
• Hardware support: HP C7000, Cisco UCS, Dell, NetApp, IBM – senior level
• New projects implementation experience
• Excellent troubleshooting skills
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Very good spoken and written English
