Responsibilities

* Together with other team members – the candidate will be working on various aspects of eCommerce technologies * The areas of work include OLTP / Data Warehouse DBs, with a focus on reuse * The ability to design and deliver high quality and high performance software is an essential requirement * This position will be involved in all phases of product development from review of functional specifications through assisting with the design and oversight of the development activities * Be extremely involved in development direction, participating in designs, design reviews and code reviews * Maintain current technical knowledge to support rapidly changing technology, always on a look out for new technologies and work with management and development team in bringing new technologies * Candidate must be able to work with a minimum of technical supervision and supplemental engineering support, while responding efficiently to multiple program priorities

Requirement Skills

* Bachelors degree – preferably in computer science – or equivalent experience * Masters degree in computer science preferred * Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English Exceptional ANSI SQL knowledge * 3+ years of overall RDBMS experience with expert level on at least one database engine and working knowledge of several others * Ability to understand relational models for both OLTP and Data Warehouse realms * Expert level database tuning abilities * Deep understanding of DBA responsibilities and DBA level knowledge of at least one of RDBMSs * Experience with MySQL is a big plus * Ability to learn new systems and their internals fast. * Candidate must enjoy a fast-paced environment and possess strong software engineering skills * Ability to adapt to new development environments, changing business requirements and learning new systems highly desired * Understanding of web services software architectural and design issues * Experience with high volume transactional systems highly preferred * Experience with E-Commerce or other order processing systems is a must * Working knowledge of Linux OS is highly preferred
