Java Developer
in Wroclaw

CRO IT is a large IT department, delivering and supporting systems for the Chief Risk Officer, providing risk management systems for Market and Credit Risk Management. CRO IT is spread globally across 6 locations; London, New York, Singapore, India, Poland and Zurich.The Risk Engine Framework (REF) is a multi-year strategic project to provide services that support the Credit Risk and Front Office departments. The REF team is looking for a developer with strong core Java, Oracle Coherence and database (Sybase) skills to build new components for the system. The suitable candidate must have a background in Investment Banking. The development team is based in London and Poland.

Responsibilities:
• Under the guidance of a Development Manager, work directly with allocated Project Managers, Business Analysts and external IT and business teams to implement change requests and new features
• Provide third level support for the existing systems where required
• Take responsibility for changes that go through multiple tiers from the Java application through to the back-end databases
• Write server-side code to implement business logic
• Write and amend stored procedures in the Sybase/SQL Server databases
• Utilize standards, architectures, and processes to ensure that all code and development practices conform to company guidelines and industry best practices
• Participate in all aspects of the project lifecycle, following stringent rules and procedures for testing and promoting code in compliance with company change control processes

Requirements:
Mandatory:

• A core Java developer with 3-7 years’ experience
• proven experience of DB experience (Sybase preferred)
• Experience with common Java frameworks ex Spring
• Knowledge and understanding of current best practices in Java development
• Demonstrable experience of good OO design and programming
• Experience with all phases of the systems development lifecycle
• Excellent organizational, problem solving, and written/verbal communication skills.
• Understanding of standard change control policies and procedures and ideally experience working in an IT environment with change control procedures

• Experience of working in a continuous integration environment (TeamCity)
